Approved South Korea Visa with only 30+k show money and without ITR (2018)

Image
This is such an unexpected blessing! I never thought that getting a South Korea tourist visa would be possible for someone like me who is nearly broke. Haha. I still couldn't believe it. Blogs of people whose visa applications got denied made me really worried at some point. It's a good thing that I'm a risk taker when it comes to #internationaltravelgoals and still pushed through with my application. Since I am not an expert and it is also my first time, I will only be sharing my experience and give some tips that I have come up with after completing my visa application at the Embassy of South Korea in Manila. More complete and extensive visa application guide can be found on various blogs on the web.

How to get Bank Certificate from Landbank of the Philippines for South Korea Visa Application

Image
After almost a year, I needed to request a bank certificate from Landbank of the Philippines (LBP) again. I was surprised that it costs 200php now. I got one last year (2017) for only 100php. It is still very easy to get one though from your mother branch, i.e., where you opened the account. Last February 15 in the afternoon, I went to LBP UP Diliman. There were a bunch of people inside doing over-the-counter withdrawals because the ATMs around were offline. Luckily, I was the only one requesting for a bank certificate that time. The security guard gave me the forms. I submitted the accomplished forms which contained details such as my name, account number and purpose of request ( South Korea visa application ). The security guard also asked for my ID for verification purposes. Then after I paid 200php, I got a claim stub. One banking day is allotted so I got mine just today, February 19. February 16 turned out to be a holiday because of Chinese New Year. This is my bank certificate wi...

Why I chose VUL over BTID

After successfully starting to build up an emergency fund and get a free insurance by opening a BPI Save Up Account , I have decided to avail a more extensive life insurance and to look for ways to let my very small savings grow and not just sleep in the bank. The free insurance coverage that comes with BPI Save Up will terminate as soon as I reach my 61 st birthday. I figured I needed a longer coverage because I think my lifestyle is not that unhealthy and I will do my very best to stay alive beyond 60 years old or even 80. Wow! Another thing is that I really want to commit to using only my BPI Save Up savings in case of real emergency, not emergency leisure travel or whatever. That’s what it is for anyway. I should then have other funds for my personal goals involving #aroundthecountry and #aroundtheworld, charity works, advocacies, leisure, and setting up my own business, and another to fulfill the requests of my loved ones (aside from our needs where a huge portion of my salary go...

How I enrolled my BPI Save Up Account Online

To experience hassle-free banking, I opted to enroll my newly opened BPI Save Up account online. It's easy and very straightforward. The steps I followed are shown below:

How to Open a BPI Save Up Account with Free Insurance

I have been spending the 2nd half of my 25th year on earth eager to secure myself and my family finacially. For me, the first step would be having an emergency fund. Then, after some time, I realized I needed an insurance in case I wouldn't be here anymore to provide for my family. Not that I'm married but because only my sister and I can provide wherein I am the one shouldering the bulk of expenses for our extended family. I can't exactly recall how and when I started believing on the importance of insurance. Thanks to the internet for helping us millenials develop our research skills and learn about sensible stuff in the process. Oh yes, I'm considering myself a millenial for this matter though I really think I'm more of a 'tita' in so many ways. I still remember myself during college years and after graduation getting annoyed by the persistent agents scattered inside malls asking if you have an ATM/credit card, how much is your savings, do you know tha...
